Mourning and Comfort are actions people are willing to perform for others: “mourn with those that mourn” and “comfort those that stand in need of comfort.” Those who are willing may “stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” until death (Mosiah 18:9).
Among the people of Nephi, widows mourned for husbands, fathers for sons, daughters for brothers, and brothers for fathers after their kindred had been slain (Alma 28:4-6). The people who were spared alive gave “praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord Jesus Christ, their Redeemer” (3 Nephi 10:10).
