Dancing and Merrymaking are activities in which people dance and make themselves merry. In Shemlon, the daughters of the Lamanites gathered “to sing, and to dance, and to make themselves merry” (Mosiah 20:1-5).
After they had been driven before the wind for many days, Nephi’s brethren, the sons of Ishmael, and their wives “began to make themselves merry” and “began to dance, and to sing, and to speak with much rudeness” (1 Nephi 18:9).
Jared’s daughter told Jared, “I will dance before him, and I will please him,” speaking of Akish. After Jared sent for Akish, “the daughter of Jared danced before him that she pleased him,” and Akish desired her to wife (Ether 8:10-11).
