Jareditische Propheten

During the turbulent times of the Jaredite civilization, prophets arose among the people, warning them of impending doom unless they repented of their iniquities. However, the reign of Shiblom, a Jaredite king, was marked by significant opposition to these prophets. Shiblom’s brother, whose name is not recorded, took an aggressive stance against the bearers of these divine warnings. Driven by a determination to silence their prophecies of destruction, he ordered the killing of these prophets (Ether 11:5). This act of severe persecution exemplifies the broader pattern of rejection of prophetic voices throughout the history of the Jaredites, contributing to the eventual fulfillment of the forewarned destruction of the people, as their society collapsed under the weight of their own wickedness and internal strife.
