Sealed Record is a book containing a revelation from God “from the beginning of the world to the ending thereof.” The book is “sealed by the power of God,” and its sealed revelation is kept until the Lord’s “own due time” (2 Nephi 27:7-10).
The Lord commanded the brother of Jared to “write them and shall seal them up,” along with two stones, and to show them to no man until the appointed time (Ether 3:21-28). Moroni wrote the things the brother of Jared saw, sealed both them and their interpretation, and sealed up the interpreters (Ether 4:4-5).
When the book is delivered, the man is commanded to deliver its unsealed words but not the sealed words, and later to “seal up the book again” and hide it up (2 Nephi 27:12-22). Moroni told readers, “touch them not in order that ye may translate,” except when it shall be wisdom in God (Ether 5:1).
