Royal Thrones

Royal Thrones are seats occupied by rulers in their kingdoms. A ruler built “a spacious palace, and a throne in the midst thereof,” made of fine wood and ornamented with gold, silver, and precious things (Mosiah 11:9). The sons of Shule freed their father from prison and “placed him upon his throne in his own kingdom” (Ether 7:18).

Jared was “giving audience to his people” while he sat upon his throne when he was murdered, and Akish reigned in his stead (Ether 9:5-6). The brother of Shared was murdered by his high priest “as he sat upon his throne” (Ether 14:8-9). A man came to the land of Moron and “placed himself upon the throne of Coriantumr” (Ether 14:6).
