Nephite Currency

Nephite Currency is a system of gold and silver pieces named and valued by the Nephites. They “altered their reckoning and their measure, according to the minds and the circumstances of the people,” until the reign of the judges established by king Mosiah (Alma 11:4-6).

The gold pieces were the senine, seon, shum, and limnah, and the silver pieces were the senum, amnor, ezrom, and onti (Alma 11:4-6). “A senum of silver was equal to a senine of gold,” while an antion of gold equaled three shiblons (Alma 11:7-19).
