Conferral by touch is the laying or placing of hands upon persons. Alma “clapped his hands upon all them who were with him,” and they “were filled with the Holy Spirit” as he did so (Alma 31:36).
Jesus “touched with his hand the disciples whom he had chosen, one by one,” until he had touched them all, and he spoke to them while touching them (3 Nephi 18:36). Christ also spoke to the twelve disciples “as he laid his hands upon them” (Moroni 2:1).
