City of Noah Defenses are the banks, ditch, entrance, and forts of security at the city of Noah. The city, formerly “a weak place,” had become “strong, yea, even to exceed the strength of the city Ammonihah” by the means of Moroni (Alma 49:14).
The Lamanites could not enter the forts except “by the entrance,” because of the high bank and the ditch dug around them (Alma 49:18). When they dug down the banks to make a pass, stones and arrows swept them off, and the ditches were filled in part with dead and wounded Lamanites (Alma 49:22-23).
